This short post is about a Standard Triumph car dealer in the Manchester area that was based on Moston Lane.

Google street view what the site looked like in 2017 after the business on the site ceased trading.  Towards the end of its time a hand car wash operated from the site..

J A Ferrington (Mostin) Ltd are first listed in October 1955.  In September 1968 the business is listed both as J A Ferrington (Mostin) Ltd and Co-Op Garage C.R.S. Ltd.  After that the CO OP is listed in March 1970, 1972 and 1974.  By May 1975 they are no longer listed.

Stars go shopping

Dora Bryan and Al Read, stars of the 1959 Christmas Show at Manchester Opera House, spent some time going the rounds of the Manchester shopping centres. Among their visits was one to J. A. Ferrington (Moston) Ltd., Blackley, Standard-Triumph Dealers, where they were shown the range of Standard-Triumph cars by Mr. J. H. Ferrington and his sister Mrs. Hilda Cook.

Our photograph shows them with a Standard Vanguard and a Triumph Herald with number plates appropriate to their names, AR1 and DB1.
