The business was established by Frank Dabble in 1925.  In addition to Standard Triumph cars they also sold Daimler and Jaguar cars. Later the firm sold Subaru and Isuzi cars.  They had several branches including in Manchester, Hale and Ashton under Lyne.

Bought by Grahams Brothers Group then Swan National who in turn were taken over by Lex.

I understand after Stratstone Manchester moved out of the Wilslow Road garage it got demolished except for the frontage which was listed and flats and shops were built behind it.

    1. Hi Paul, did you ever deal with the Wilmslow Road branch ? My father worked there at this time as a sales manager until he sadly passed away in 1982. His name was Ronald Aspinall. If not, do you know anyone who may have known him? He was always coming home in triumph cars , I remember a yellow TR7 quite vividly.

I own a Series 3 Land Rover, this was delivered new to Drabble and Allen on the 24th November 1981.

Interesting to see they were Triumph main dealers... I don't know which branch the vehicle was delivered to, paperwork I have just says Drabble and Allen, Manchester unfortunately. They must have held it in stock, as it was first registered in Feb '82, to a joinery company from Stockport.

    So, not just Triumph etc...

Thanks for the details about the company. Interesting to see the photos too.
