Like many other such buildings that ceased being used as car dealers the premises were reused and then demolished.  After Kwikfit stopped using the building it was knocked down and the site redeveloped.

  1. The Bond Equipe GT was essentially a rebodied Triumph Vitess 2 litre. A rather strange looking car, and an odd marriage of two different makes, the Bond was a glass fibre body. Bond were best known for three wheel bubble cars usually powered by Villiers two stroke engines.

  2. My uncle, John Willcocks was the service manager at Allen Brothers from around the late sixties until Kwik Fit decided to destroy the place. My first car was Allen Bros formans (jock) Austin 1100. My first 3 cars were (Austin 1800 & Princess)'good'trade-ins!!!. Many returns for many parts! To be honest the 1100 & 1800 were bloody good cars.

I remember the bosses son was known as Butch.
