W T Richards (Bexleyheath) Ltd are the subject of this post which is the 60th in my series about garages that dealt with cars from the Standard Triumph company.  In 1958 the business was selling Standard, Triumph Jaguar, Austin and Rover cars.  The company was taken over by Lex Mead and traded as Lex Bexleyheath. At a later stage the garage took on the Honda franchise.  The Broadway premises have been demolished and a supermarket now occupies the site.

  1. I worked at Lex Bexleyheath from 1980 till they closed end of October 1995. Franchises held upon closing where Rover, Honda and Saab. The original site 72 to 78 Broadway Bexleyheath had been forced to close because of the pedestrianisation of the Broadway, Lex moved to a site at the corner of Northend road and Thames Road in 1988. 1990 saw a completely new purpose built site erected back on the Broadway at Bexleyheath, 20 The Broadway until closing eo October 95, the site was sold to Whitehouse group. Hope this helps
