Triumph TR2 Instruction Book

The Triumph TR2 Instruction Book is the first of several new documents that I hope to be sharing. A friend recently obtained a collection of books that were being disposed of by a library as surplus to their needs.  This is an old style owners handbook.

Triumph Collision Gude

The Triumph Collision Guide.  Now here is something I had not heard of let alone seen before.  Somebody mentioned this to me on Facebook - seems it was a manual that deals with the exterior bits likely to be damaged in a car crash.  Anybody got a copy -  I would like to share a copy on my website.

TR7 Repair Operations Times

I recently bought this Triumph TR7 Repair Operations Times manual on eBay.  This factory produced manual in May 1976. It sets out the time taken to do many of the workshop tasks described in the Repair Operations Manual.  I will be adding a copy to my website later. 

I am told that there are later editions.  I would like a later edition as my car is a 1981 convertible.

Lucas Petrol Injection Service bulletins

I recently got hold of copies of some service bulletins produced by Joseph Lucas about their Petrol Injection system.  I have copies of Lucas Petrol Injection Service bulletins 2,7,8,9 and 10 has anybody got the others?  I have scanned 8, 9 and 10 and will add them to my website.  In the meantime here is a copy of number 10.

Rainy day reading - Weatherproofing

Amongst my library I found this "Leyland Cars Training Workbook - Weatherproofing"  full of info about how and where water gets in + some ideas about stopping it. I have scanned it to add to my website. You can get a copy here.

Standard Vanguard I Spare Parts Catalogue - engine only

Here is another old manual from Dirk. Dirk has a Triumph Renown and a Roadster so being interested in the Vanguard engine has scanned the engine part of the manual only for now. He told me that he could also scan the reminder of the catalogue if anybody is interested but that it would take him sometime.

Lucas Girling Equipment and Service Parts - Standard Triumph 1969

Catching up with the Canley Classics blog I saw mention of the 4 wheel "Pony" gearboxes for sale.

Included in this parts booklet is a section listing parts for the "Pony". I bet it puzzled people back then and it even odder now.

Lunchtime find

Look what I found in Oxfam today. A real period piece published in 1962. It covers the 948cc and 1147cc cars. There no oil stains on it. I could not resist the retro style of the cover.

Fun Cars

I had been looking for this book for some time. Found it on eBay at the end of October. Now another copy has come up. Strange that. Next thing I know it will be republished and available from W H Smith.

There are various cars in the book that use Triumph parts. The TX Tripper pictures are very period. A bit like this.

Just got my copy direct from the states. Signed by the man himself.

Not much in this book about small chassis Triumphs compared with the last two. Has an excellent article about Lucas Fuel Injection amongst other things.

I had read that the Triumph 2000/2500/2.5PI Register service notes were recommended for triumphists with PI.

Having bought them I reckon that it was money well spent. They are full tips gathered over the years by club members. http://www.t2000register.org.uk/
